TNPSC GROUP 2 – SELECTION PROCESS
Candidates should be selected in three-round to attain the job in TNPSC GROUP 2 Exam.
Firstly candidates should be given the preliminary test in which they have to be qualified with minimum cut-off marks when candidates qualified the pre-exam then they call for the mains exam after that candidate who clears the Online Written Examination with the qualifying marks are called for the Interview.
Everyone has to compulsorily participate in every round and should get a good score to be promoted to the next round.

TNPSC GROUP 2 SYLLABUS – EXAM PATTERN
- Group 2 (Interview Posts): Selection of candidates for vacancies released under Group 2 is done on the basis of the preliminary exam, main written exam, and Interview/Personality Test.

- Prelims exam will have 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s).
- Questions will be available in both the English and Tamil languages.
- The time duration of the Prelims Exam is 3 hours of a maximum of 300 marks.
- 175 questions are from the general studies section and the remaining 25 questions from the aptitude and mental ability test section.
- The minimum qualifying marks for TNPSC Prelims Exam is 90 out of 300.

- Mains Exam holds utmost importance as the marks secured by the candidates in this Exam are considered for the Final Selection.
- The exam is bilingual that available in both the English and Tamil languages.
- The exam will have 2 papers: Paper I and Paper-II.
- Part A – It has 2 questions from Tamil to English Translation and English to Tamil Translation.
- Part B – It has 10 questions from Precis Writing, Comprehension, Hints Development and Essay Writing on ‘Thirukkural’ and Letter writing.
- Paper-I will be of 100 marks of 1 hour 30 minutes duration.
- Paper-II will be of 300 marks of 3-hour duration.
- Candidates who do not secure minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I will not be considered for the evaluation of Paper-II
- Minimum 102 and 90 marks required to qualify in group 2 and group 2A main exams respectively.
