SSC CGL SYLLABUS – SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates should be selected in three-round to attain the job in SSC CGL Exam.

Firstly candidates should be given the Tier -I test in which they have to be qualified with minimum cut-off marks when candidates are qualified the Tier – I then they call for the Tier – II exam after that candidate who clears the Tier – II Examination with the qualifying marks are called for the Tier – III round.

Everyone has to compulsorily participate in every round and should get a good score to be promoted to the next round.

For Tier – I Exam

  1. Tier 1 comprises 100 questions in total with a maximum mark of 200.
  2. SSC CGL Tier 1 is of 60 minutes.
  3. SSC CGL Tier I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and maximum marks of 50.
  4. There will be a negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.

For Tier – II Exam

  • Tier 2 exam will be conducted online comprising of four exams with about 100 or 200 (English) questions in each section and with maximum marks of 200.
  • Candidates have to complete each Exam in 2 hours.
  •  There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension).

For Tier – III Exam

  • 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III, and Paper-IV.
  • SSC has decided to conduct a Descriptive Paper instead of an Interview in SSC CGL for all the candidates who qualify SSC CGL Tier 2 Examination. 
  • SSC CGL Tier 3 Descriptive Paper (Pen and Paper Mode) is introduced to test the writing skills of the candidates. The exam is conducted in offline mode (Pen and Paper Mode).
  • The paper is in English/ Hindi language and will constitute 100 marks.
  • Candidates have to complete the entire paper in 60 minutes. (ssc cgl syllabus)

Note:- Candidates have to score 33 marks (33 percent) to qualify for the Descriptive Paper.

For Tier – IV Exam

SSC CGL Tier 4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. It is conducted in two steps:

  1. Skill Test in Data Entry (DEST) Test and
  2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) Test.
