RBI Assistant – Selection Process
Candidates should be selected in three phases:
- Preliminary Exam
- Mains Exam
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
RBI Assistant has a specific syllabus for all the sections asked in both preliminary examination and mains examination. The major sections covered are:
- English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude and
- Reasoning
The above-mentioned three sections are the common sections asked in both the preliminary exam and the main exam.
An additional section of General Awareness and Computer Knowledge is asked in Mains Exam apart from the above mentioned three sections. Sectional cut-off as well the overall cut-off for each phase of the examination must be cleared by a candidate in order to get selected for further rounds of the RBI Assistant Exam.
RBI Assistant Syllabus – Exam Pattern
For Preliminary Exam
- The RBI Assistant Prelims Exam will be Objective Type Questions (Multiple Choice Questions) will be asked in the exam.
- The officials of the RBI conducts the Prelims Exam from Reasoning, English Language, and Numerical Ability.
- There will be a total of 100 questions for 100 marks and the Prelims Exam will conduct for 60 minutes.
- Further, each question carries one mark and for each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

For Mains Examination
- In the RBI Assistant Mains exam, the questions will be asked in the same objective multiple-choice format.
- Candidates will be asked 200 MCQs from five sections – English Language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, Computer Knowledge and General Awareness.
