IBPS Clerk Exam – Exam Pattern
For Prelims Examination
The IBPS Clerk preliminary examination is conducted online and candidates are allocated a total duration of 1 hour (20 minutes for each section) to complete the preliminary exam.
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for the Online Main examination.

For Mains Examination
In the latest update by IBPS, IBPS Clerk Mains Exam will now constitute 190 questions that need to be completed in a time frame of 160 minutes.
Previously, Computer Aptitude and Reasoning Ability Section used to be conducted separately. But, in the recent update by IBPS, both these sections are amalgamated together and will constitute 50 questions that need to be solved in a time duration of 45 minutes.

Note: –
- Candidates have to qualify in each test with the cut off marks decided by the IBPS Officials. the aspirants who got minimum marks will be shortlisted for the Mains Examination.
- Both Prelims and Mains exams will be available in bilingually i.e; English and Hindi except the Test of English Language.
- The IBPS Clerk Written Exam is an Objective Test.
- For every wrong answer given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 marks deducted as the penalty.
IBPS Clerk Exam – Marking Scheme
- In IBPS Clerk Prelims 2020 Exam, 100 MCQs will be asked. Each question will be of 1 mark. There would be a penalty for the wrong answer marked by the candidate. Every wrong answer costs 0.25 mark.
IBPS Clerk – Selection Process
Candidates should be selected in four-round to attain the job in IBPS Clerk Exam.
Firstly candidates should be given the preliminary test in which they have to be qualified with minimum cut-off marks when candidates qualified the pre-exam then they call for mains exam after that candidate who clears the Online Written Examination with the qualifying marks are called for the Provisional Allotment and then Document Verification and Interview.
Everyone has to compulsorily participate in every round and should get a good score to be promoted to the next round.
